elk-hair-caddis-hot-spot
Elk Hair Caddis - Hot Spot

Hot Spot Elk Hair Caddis

The Hot Spot Elk Hair Caddis pairs an elk hair wing with a contrasting hot spot, adding an attractor accent to a familiar caddis dry-fly profile. It gives you a different look when trout are feeding at the surface and you want more than a subdued imitation. Choose sizes 12, 14, or 16 to suit the insects and water in front of you, then start with a drag-free drift through a likely feeding lane. An occasional gentle twitch or short skate offers another presentation when caddis are moving across the surface.

Pattern Details

Style: Elk Hair Caddis / attractor dry fly

Wing: Elk hair

Signature Detail: Contrasting hot spot that adds a distinct attractor accent to the caddis profile

Best Water: Trout rivers and streams, especially riffles, runs, and current seams

Techniques: Drag-free dead drifts, gentle twitches, and short surface skates during caddis activity

Sizes: 12, 14, and 16

Keep the Hot Spot Elk Hair Caddis in your dry-fly box when you want a caddis presentation with an extra point of contrast.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0819/6541/6684/files/hot-spot-elk-hair-caddis-on-a-plain-white-background.png?v=1793743579
